Mercedes-Benz Has Issued The Updated Version of B-Class Sports Tourer

Mercedes-Benz has launched the updated version of B-Class Sports Tourer.

"For the best of what's coming up" - so says the advertising slogan for the new B-Class.

The market launch of the new model will shortly no longer be one of the things covered by that slogan, for deliveries of the first units of the comprehensively updated Sports Tourer will be starting very soon, on 29 November.

Mercedes-Benz has given its best-selling model a major facelift that includes exterior and interior enhancements along with attractive, redefined design and equipment lines such as the Electric Art line (exclusive for the B-Class Electric Drive) and AMG Line.

The breadth of choice is unique in this segment: four economical diesel models with consumption statistics ranging from 3.6 to 5.0 l/100 km, four efficient petrol engines at between 5.4 and 6.6 l/100 km, as well as the B 200 Natural Gas Drive (3.3 to 6.0 kg/100 km) and B-Class Electric Drive (0 g CO2/km), as well as optional 4MATIC all-wheel drive. Prices start at 27,102.25 euros for the B 180. The B-Class Electric Drive costs 39,151 euros1 and can be leased at monthly rates that start at 399 euros. The extensive standard equipment for all versions includes, amongst other features, the advanced assistance systems COLLISION PREVENTION ASSIST PLUS and ATTENTION ASSIST.

Since its market launch in 2005, Mercedes-Benz has delivered more than a million B-Class models to customers around the world. Launched in late 2011, the second-generation model has already sold more than 380,000 units worldwide. The Sports Tourer has done especially well in the German market, where it is the market leader in its segment.

The high level of customer satisfaction is not only reflected in the sales figures: in 2014 the Mercedes-Benz B-Class won the J.D. Power satisfaction survey in its particular segment and, with a figure of 82.4 percent, scored the highest satisfaction rating in the customer satisfaction survey. The J.D. Power VOSS study (Vehicle Ownership Satisfaction Study) is the largest survey of German motorists and is based on the responses of more than 18,000 drivers. The study employed online interviews to poll the respondents about their level of satisfaction regarding the appeal, quality, service and operating costs of their no more than two-year-old cars. A total of 26 manufacturers and 127 model series were rated.

The B-Class is also very popular with fleet customers. In Europe's largest comparative test based on practical experience, conducted by the magazine "Firmenauto" (Company Car), fleet managers repeatedly - in 2012, 2013 and 2014 - voted the B-Class the company car of the year in the "Small and Compact Vans" category.

The DEKRA used-vehicle report 2014 identified the B-Class as the vehicle with the least number of defects in the "Vans" category. Furthermore, it won the title "Vehicle of the Year".
