On the morning of August 3rd, a steel girder marking "Baosteel Steel Structure, Dedicating With Honor" reached the 580-metre platform on125th floor of Shanghai Tower, Chinese tallest building under construction. The steel girder's accurate positioning marked Shanghai Tower sealing its roof atop the major structure and finishing the milestone.
The girder, labelled"125NG124H6-1", wearing big red flowers, is 6.8-metre long, 0.8-metre wide, 0.9-metre high with the total weight of 3.3 tons. It is from Baosteel Steel Structure of Baosteel Engineering Group and welded elaborately by skilled technician. Up to now, Baosteel Steel Structure has already provided about 70,000 tons of steel structure parts, taking up to approximately 60% of this project's totally used amount of steel structure. These steel structures are mainly used at the key parts of Shanghai Tower, such as main building, skirt building, curtain wall and tower crown, etc. After sealing its roof atop the major structure, Baosteel Structure will continue providing the steel structure for its tower crown, lifting up and dressing up the new skyline of Shanghai by a" crown of steel structure".
In the project of constructing Shanghai Tower, Baosteel Structure selects and supplies high-end construction steel such as ultra thick steel plate of 100mm and above as well as high-tensile steel of above Q390. By virtue of its rich experience and strong manufacturing capacity in steel structure's deep design, product R&D, project management,etc., Baosteel Steel Structure discovers and conquers the difficult design problems of slip node of curtain wall supporting steel structure and creates a domestic precedent of steel structure curtain wall slippage technology, lowering the cost of constructing Shanghai Tower. Meanwhile, it also solves the control problem of key technology such as the informationalized pre-assembling of super column with the girdle truss to guarantee the production quality and progress schedule of the main body of Shanghai Tower and curtain wall steel structure.
Shanghai Tower is planned to be completed in 2015. Then as the last work of super high-rise building in small Lujiazui financial district, the 632-metre high Shanghai Tower with grade A office of international standard, super 5-star hotel and its supporting facilities and with five functions of high-quality, tourism, culture&recreation, special meeting facilities,etc., will become the new landmark of Shanghai.
It is reported that Baosteel's high quality structure is "rooted in" the these famous building to play the supporting role, including the landmarks like Jin Mao Tower and Shanghai World Financial Center, as well as the adjacent Oriental Pearl Tower, besides Shanghai Tower which is under construction.
