Magna Steyr, an operating unit of Magna International, has entered into a new manufacturing contract with German luxury carmaker BMW Group.
Under the contract, Magna Steyr will continue assembling BMW's vehicles at its plant in Graz, Austria.
This contract will start following the end of production of the current MINI models MINI Countryman and MINI Paceman at the plant.
Magna Steyr and Magna International Europe president Günther Apfalter said: "We are pleased to secure this contract which allows Magna Steyr to maintain its position as a leader in contract vehicle manufacturing."
Starting in 2003 with the first manufacturing contract for the BMW X3, Magna Steyr is a strategic vehicle assembly partner of the BMW Group. Currently it is manufacturing the MINI Paceman and the MINI Countryman for the BMW Group.
The company offers a range of services in five areas including engineering services, vehicle contract manufacturing, roof systems, fuel systems and battery systems.
