British luxury carmaker Jaguar has introduced the new 2014 XJ sports saloon range that incorporates improved features and latest in-car technology.
The latest model will be offered with a range of powertrain options including 2.0L 4-cylinder i4 turbocharged petrol, 3.0L V6 diesel and supercharged petrol in addition to four 5.0L V8 petrol engines, which are mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The 3.0L V6 supercharged petrol engine powers the carmaker's all-wheel drive (AWD) system that continuously examines grip levels and driver inputs , while offering maximum traction in all conditions, while 2.0L i4 incorporates stop/start system.
The 'R' version of the XJ is powered by a 5.0L supercharged V8 engine that generates an output power of 550PS and 680Nm of torque, while accelerating from 0-60mph in 4.4 seconds and top speed of 174mph.
According to the carmaker, the saloon's lightweight aluminium construction offers benefits in terms of agility, acceleration, braking and driver feedback and involvement.
Interior features include two individual 'airline style' reclining seats; front seat activation button that allows controlling the front passenger seat from the rear; and the front touchscreen allows selecting all the four electric seats and adjust via the driver's seat switches, in addition to several other features.
The new 2014 XJ range also comes with an 18in Manra lightweight forged alloy wheels, and soft closing door technology that enables secure closing of doors with reduced exertion and excessive noise.
