Fiat plans to arrange Ferrari to help Alfa Romeo develop new engines, and aims to rebuild Alfa Romeo brand.
Marchioe, CEO of Fiat, said recently, “Ferrari will play a more active role to help Alfa Romeo develop new engines, just like what Ferrari has down to Martha Lahti.” Fiat expects to announce the technology cooperation between these two brands in a month.
Marchioe also pointed that helping Alfa find an engine matching the brand has been the key question, which will affect the revival of Alfa Romeo.
In November last year, Marchioe announced the new plan to release Alfa Romeo brand again. It will release 9 new models from 2013 to 2016. The sales will be double from 0.1 million in 2012 to 0.3 million in 2016.
