Tesla Recalls Its Entire Model S Range

Tesla Motors is recalling all of its 90,000 Model S sedans to fix issues with its front seat belt assembly.

Tesla said that it found that a Model S in Europe had issues in its front seat belt that was not properly connected to the outboard lap pretensioner, following which the company conducted an investigation.

Though the investigation Tesla found the same issue in 3000 cars, but the company decided to recall the entire range as a safety measure.

Tesla claims that it is not aware of any injuries related to the incident. However, in an event of a crash the seat belt will not provide full protection to the passenger.

Tesla said: "If you are concerned about the status of your seat belt prior to your scheduled inspection, you may be able to detect this condition by pulling very firmly on the lap portion of your seat belt with a force of at least 80 pounds."

"This procedure may detect an improperly attached seat belt but performing this procedure does not replace the need for an inspection by a Tesla technician."

This is not the first time the electric luxury car maker is recalling Model S, as last year it recalled 29,222 units Model S sedans due to charging defect that could have led to a fire hazard.

In 2013 the company recalled 1,228 Model S due to issues with the strength of a mounting bracket.
