Kettle Cuisine Acquires Custom Food Manufacturing Firm Del Monaco

Kettle Cuisine has acquired a privately held custom food manufacturing company Del Monaco Foods for undisclosed sum.

Based in Morgan Hill, California, Del Monaco produces soups, sauces and other specialty items.

The acquisition will enhance Kettle’s capabilities to national, retail and food service customers.

Kettle Cuisine, a producer of refrigerated and frozen natural soups, will strengthen its position in the industry as a coast to coast fresh soup producer, having two world class SQF Level 3 certified facilities in Lynn, Massachusetts and Morgan Hill, California. 

The transaction is the second acquisition completed by Kettle since being acquired by Kainos Capital in August 2015.

In January, Kettle introduced two new soups that were developed with lower sodium.

The soup was tender chicken simmered with brown rice in handcrafted chicken stock steeped with fresh ginger and lemon. It contained 480mg of sodium per serving.

In October 2015, it launched ready-to-heat, organic steel cut oatmeal amid growing demand for healthier breakfast options.
