Mary Ann's Specialty Foods Recalls Niman Ranch Applewood Smoked Uncured Petite Ham

Mary Ann’s Specialty Foods is recalling about 3,536 pounds of Niman Ranch Applewood Smoked Uncured Petite Ham as the labels do not feature establishment number, the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) said.

The recalled product is various weight packages of 'Niman Ranch Applewood Smoked Uncured Petite Ham,' featuring the use by/ freeze by dates: '2/5/2014,' '2/10/2014,' '2/11/2013,' and '2/13/2013.'

These packages may lack the establishment number "1221W" inside the USDA mark of inspection or elsewhere on the label; however, the distributor information is available.

Distributed to retail stores nationwide, the implicated products were produced between 23 October and 31 October 2013.

The problem was identified by the FSIS personnel during routine label verification, and may have occurred due to a printing error.

Classified as class III, the recall indicates a situation where the use of the product will not cause adverse health consequences.
