Honda FCV Concept Is Expected to Be Launched in The Japanese Market by March 2016

Honda has unveiled fuel-cell vehicle (FCV) concept car in Tokyo which is expected to be launched in the Japanese market by March 2016 followed by European and US markets.

Honda FCV Concept Debuts in Japan

The new car will have a power density of 3.1kW/L, which is an increase of60% when compared to its predecessor FCX Clarity while the stack size has been reduced 33% in comparison to the Honda FCX Clarity.

The car is designed to provide a driving range of more than 300 miles.

The five- seater vehicle features a low and wide aerodynamic body giving it a sedan like look; and it also features powertrain packaging efficiencies to provide increased passenger space than FCX Clarity along with wheel openings that was not present in its previous design concept.

Honda claims the FCX to be the first vehicle certified by the Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board.

Honda had launched its fuel-cell vehicle FCX Clarity in July 2008. The company had also entered into a long-term collaborative agreement with General Motors to co-develop the next-generation of fuel-cell systems and hydrogen storage technologies in In June 2013.
