The new office and sales team in the UK will be led by regional sales director Mark Aubrey who has extensive experience and knowledge in the cartonboard market.
The office will be located in Nottingham and will be fully operational as of 22 April.
A statement from the company said: "The opening of a new sales office in the UK is a natural step for Pankaboard as we continue to deepen our speciality strategy through own sales organization in the UK.
"This highlights our long term commitment to existing and new customers in the UK."
Pankaboard is a privately-owned cartonboard and specialty board manufacturer with production facilities in Pankakoski in Eastern Finland.
The company produces 100.000 tons of board every year and exports across Europe, North America and Asia. Pankaboard has both PEFC and FSC certificates.
