Swiss-headquartered resources company Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced that in the fourth quarter of 2013 its overall iron ore pellet production increased by 9.1 percent year on year to 2.76 million mt, while during the whole year, the output volume amounted to 10.8 million mt, up 11.6 percent year on year.
In the fourth quarter, Ferrexpo's pellet production from its own raw materials increased by 14 percent year on year, amounting to 2.7 million mt, while its pellet production from third party concentrate stood at 66,000 mt, down from 167,200 mt in the same period of the previous year.
In 2013, Ferrexpo's pellet production from its own raw materials increased by 11.2 percent year on year, amounting to 10.46 million mt, while its pellet production from third party concentrate increased by 23.5 percent year on year to 347,500 mt.
Last year, Ferrexpo Yeristovo Mining's iron ore production amounted to 2.06 million mt, while iron ore production from Ferrexpo Poltova Mining decreased by 9.7 percent to 8.4 million mt, compared to the previous year.
