Car makers Lotus is recalling a total of 860 vehicles of Exige, Elise and Evora models after It was discovered that the oil cooler hose was capable of getting detached.
According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration this could lead to oil spray onto the tire which would make the car to lose its grip and crash.
The agency also stated that oil could spray throughout the engine compartment which could increase the risk of a fire as well.
The 2008-2011 Elise models are widely affected, so are 2011 Evoras along with 2007 (November) - 2011(July) Exige.
It is being reported that the company dealership will inspect the vehicles and fix the issue for free. The hose fitting will be replaced and the affected Evoras will be getting new hose assembly.
