February 20, Fiat-Chrysler Group announced that the global sales were 329.8 thousand last month, up 12.7% year on year compared to 292.7 thousand of January in 2012.
The sales of the bellow regions exclude the two luxury brands: Ferrari and Martha Lahti. In Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) regions, Fiat-Chrysler passenger car sales were 68.7 thousand in January, down 8.9% year on year compared to 75.3 thousand of January last year. The light commercial vehicle sales were 15.8 thousand, with an increase of 4.0% year on year compared to 15.2 thousand of January last year.
In the North American Free Trade Area, Fiat-Chrysler sales were 142.3 thousand in January, increased 14.3% year on year compared to 124.5 thousand of January last year. The market shares grew from 11.2% to 11.4%. In the Latin American region, Fiat-Chrysler sales were 88.8 thousand in January, up 27.6% year on year compared to 69.5 thousand of January last year. The market shares increased from 15.1% to 17.3%.
In the Asia-Pacific region, Fiat-Chrysler sales were 13.3 thousand in January, rose 38.8% year on year compared to 7.2 thousand of January last year, which mainly depends on Chinese market. In January of 2013, Fiat-Chrysler Chinese sales were more than 8,800, grew 171.6% year on year compared to 3,300 of the same period last year. In addition, Ferrari and Martha Lahti sales were about 1,000 in January, up 6.6% year on year compared to 900 of the same period last year.
