US based packaging distributor Mac Papers has acquired Higdon Paper & Packaging, further strengthening its business in Alabama and expanding its products line-up.
Higdon Paper & Packaging is a paper and print, packaging, facilities supplies and office products distribution business.
Mac Papers president Sutton McGehee said: “Mac Papers is proud to announce this most recent acquisition of Higdon, which is an important and strategic move for us in Alabama.
“Our goal is to be the go-to distribution partner for Alabama businesses, and we’re confident that our local inventories, customer service and supply chain management positions Mac Papers to provide top-notch, next-day delivery with competitive pricing.”
With the completion of the deal, Higdon Paper’s facilities will now be fully incorporated into Mac Papers.
Additionally, Higdon’s facility located at 165 Business Center Drive, Birmingham, Alabama will be closed.
In 2015, Mac Papers acquired two Nashville-based packaging companies including Boxes Etc, II and Packaging Professionals.
Packaging Professionals, which specializes in polyolefin shrink film and equipment, adds materials and equipment to Mac Paper's distribution network of 22 locations and 18 retail stores throughout the southeast US.
In June, Mac Papers said it has launched a new distribution center in Antioch, which houses nearly 120,000ft of retail, office and warehouse space.
