Moldavian Metallurgical Works (MMZ), a steelmaker based in the Transnistrian region of Moldova, has announced that its production operations remain suspended and are unlikely to resume in February as negotiations still continue between company representatives and government officials. The company hopes to restart production in March.
MMZ had stopped production and shipments in January due to the increase in company income tax which affected the competitiveness of its finished steel product prices.
