Wolf Cinema Will Show Three New DLP-Based Front Projectors

Wolf Cinema will use next week's International CES, here, to show three new DLP-based front projectors, plus key upgrades to two current editions.

The company, which will be exhibiting at Venetian Hotel suite 30-102, said it is now shipping the company's new entry model SDC-6 2D/3D projector, plus the ultra-bright SDC-20 projector/processor combo — both designed for higher ambient light room conditions. Pricing was not disclosed.

Also announced is the all-new SDC-25 LED-based home-theater projection system, using three long-life RGB emitters in lieu of the more traditional lamp-based illumination technologies.

All three new models will be available at show time. In addition, advanced 4K feature upgrades have been incorporated in two of the company's three-chip models: the SDC-12, a.k.a. GrayWolf 4K, and the acclaimed SDC-15, a.k.a. the Cub.

"It's an extremely exciting time for the company as we launch three all-new home-theater solutions concurrently here during CES," said Jim McGall, Wolf Cinema sales director. "These new systems continue the six-year heritage of our company's home-theater excellence — delivering truly cinematic, film-like images from a wide variety of standard-definition, HD and Ultra HD 4K sources."

The SDC-6 is a compact model with 3,500 ANSI lumens of brightness and deep black-level performance. The SDC-6 system is complemented by the rack-mountable ProScaler MK III outboard video processor, featuring multi-axis CMS calibration capabilities.

The new SDC-20 2D/3D projector and outboard ProScaler MK II combo increases overall light output to 5,000 ANSI, with multiple lens options.

The new SDC-25 light engine follows in the footsteps of the DCL-200FD LED-emitter based design, extending gamut, peak white- and black-level performances while adding true stereoscopic imaging for the home cinema enthusiast, the company said.

The projector is mated with the company's latest ProScaler MK V, designed in conjunction with industry guru Jim Peterson.

Among numerous advancements, the ProScaler MK V also incorporates the exciting Darbee Video Presence [DVP] technologies for enhanced depth, sharpness and imaging reality.

New 4K features were also added to the popular SDC-12 and SDC-15 models, McGall said.

Starting this year, the two engines now accept and display images from native 4K sources [at Ultra HD 3,840 by 2,160 resolution], and add improved black-level performance, expanded system-calibration memories, advanced iris packages and more.
