US-based Yauk's Specialty Meats has expanded its recall that was issued on 9 December and 12 December 2013 to include additional products that were produced under insanitary conditions, according to the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The products associated with the extended recall include Corner Post Meats brand hams and bacon, Old Style Sausage brand Smoked Andouille Sausage' and Old Style Sausage brand Smoked Kielbasa Sausage.
These products join previously withdrawn products including Four Sisters Farm, Heart Rock Bison, High Point Bison, Luc's Pizza, Mountain States Poultry & Meats, Open A Bar 2, Rocky Plains Quality Meats, Schmidt's Bakery & Deli, Wag's Livestock, Wayne's Specialty Meats, Windsor Dairy, Wyoming Pure Beef and Yauk's Specialty Meats.
The recall also includes Colorado's Best Beef brand various fresh, smoked and shelf-stable meat products; James Ranch brand jerky and summer sausage; Rocky Plains Meats" brand hams, bacon, raw and smoked sausage, jerky and raw poultry; Long Family Farms brand smoked pork products; Horned Beef brand jerky and Mile High Hungarian Sausage" brand fresh and smoked bacon and sausage.
This recall was initiated after it was found that the products were being manufactured under insanitary conditions, during a food safety review by FSIS at Yauk's Specialty's plant.
No illnesses have been reported associated with the recall.
