DAF Trucks Has Launched The New Paccar Mx-11 Engine

DAF Trucks, the Netherlands-based truck manufacturing firm, has launched the new PACCAR MX-11 engine, which is complaint with Euro 6 standard.

The new 10.8L, six-cylinder, in-line engine generates an output between 290hp and 440hp, while offering a total torque of up to 1,550lbft.

The MX-11 engine incorporates double overhead camshaft design, a graphite iron (CGI) engine block and cylinder head to improve its durability.

DAF president Harrie Schippers said: "The new PACCAR MX-11 engine delivers excellent fuel efficiency and reliability, while contributing to a quiet, optimized driver environment."

Features of the engine include a high pressure common rail fuel injection system, a turbo charger with variable geometry and enhanced technologies such as encapsulated wiring harnesses as well as advanced engine management systems, which are aimed to increase efficiency.

The European production of the new engine is scheduled to commence in the fall of 2013 and it will power DAF's Euro 6 CF and XF vehicles, while it is also planned to power Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks in 2015.
