Land Rover is testing its Discovery Sport in extreme weather conditions of the Middle East ahead of its launch this month.
The vehicle is being tested in hot weather climates to ensure the vehicle is comfortable to be used across various markets including Middle East and North Africa (MENA) countries where its Jaguar vehicles are sold across 40 dealerships.
The next generation Discovery Sport will have a new design approach that balances volume and proportion, which makes it a compact SUV with comfortable seating capacity for seven passengers, the company said.
JLR Vehicle Engineering Operations Manager MENA John Winchester said: "Our engineering teams are committed and focused on the quality and durability of our products and an important part of this is rigorous environmental testing of our vehicles to ensure they can withstand even the harshest conditions."
"This region also offers the opportunity to do high ambient temperature testing where road surfaces are extremely smooth; making for some unique challenges and unparalleled testing opportunities."
