Tetra Pak, a Sweden-based food packaging and processing solutions provider, has developed Tetra Vertico, a new generation of heat exchanger unit for prepared food products.
With a coiled mono-tube design, the equipment is claimed to offer greater versatility and efficiency in heating and cooling food products.
Unlike traditional heat exchangers, Tetra Vertico is EHEDG certified, and it provides greater processing capacity of high viscosity products, reduction in system volumes and holding times by up to 20%, gentle mechanical treatment, while reducing product losses by up to 6%.
Tetra Pak Prepared Food Global Category director Henrik Jönsson said, "Tetra Vertico provides the perfect solution for customers that need flexible and efficient processing solutions, while maintaining high standards of food safety and quality.
"It is suitable for a large variety of foods, with low or high viscosity, smooth or with particles."
The company stated that the equipment is designed with hygiene standards and optimized CIP (Cleaning-In-Place) and maintenance processes, which offers greater efficiency savings.
