Furniture builder System 180 cooperated with Potsdam School of Design Thinking to develop a functionally and formally independent programme specifically for creative teamwork. The Design Thinking-Line (DT-Line), named after the renowned innovation school, comprises of a standing workplace and a movable board. The elements are light-weight and stale in their design and placed on casters to be individually configured for various group sizes or work phases. Only two pieces of furniture are needed to produce a full setting for brain stormings, discussion or presentations.

The starting point for the development of the DT-Line is the innovation culture practiced by the School of Design Thinking: Accordingly, the best solutions are produced in multi-disciplinary groups where the participants exchange ideas according to a dedicated method. This approach, developed at the Stanford University according to the example of the famous “d.school”, centrally focuses on the spatial environment and its equipment. Furniture supporting the collaborative process of finding ideas is important. The modular construction kit of System 180 offers the best prerequisites for this: pipes of brushed stainless steel form the basic structure. Filled with white surfaces, they create functional, timeless pieces of furniture that inspire with their very special aesthetics.

At a height of 106 centimetres, the Table DT-Line is designed for work standing up. This not only creates the desired dynamics in teamwork, but also supports health. After all, it is undisputed that extra movement will improve the ability to perform and prevent diseases of civilisation such as back pains. The table top of the Table DT-Line, at a size of 160 by 80 centimetres, offers enough space for laptops, to put out material or to assemble around a concept idea. A recessed deposit below the table top is particularly practical, since it can be used to store materials and ensures that the upper workspace is kept clear for the important things. The tables also have casters with brakes and can be moved easily.

The DT-Line whiteboard can be used as a mobile room divider, bulletin board or blackboard. The HPL (High Pressure Laminate) panel can be written on with whiteboard markers and applied with magnets. At a width of 173 centimetres and a height of 190 centimetres, the whiteboard offers plenty of space to record work results or to order them flexibly. Additionally, it can also be used as a projection area for presentations. With casters and diagonal struts in the subconstruction, the DT-Line whiteboards can be stacked up in a very space-saving manner.

The combination of a mobile table and multifunctional mobile wall offers creative freedom for groups of four to six. By lining up additional DT-Line-elements, scenarios even for larger groups can be implemented as quickly as the setting can be supplemented from the System 180 construction kit.
