Mexico-based Industrias Lenox has invested US$200 million to build a steel plant in Linares, in the northern state of Nuevo León, with an annual capacity of 300,000 tons of liquid steel.

According to Enrique Garza Gutiérrez, director of Lenox, the project will be completed by the second quarter of 2015.  "We will create 500 work places and we have a second stage to double the size of this project," Gutiérrez said.

The second phase of the Lenox mill will commence in 2018, with plans to increase its annual production capacity to 600,000 tons of liquid steel.
