The Sales of Jaguar Land Rover September Retail Add up 22%

Tata Motors’ British luxury car manufacturing subsidiary Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has reported 22% rise in its retail sales during September 2012 to 36,907 units compared to the corresponding month in 2011.

Of the total retail sales, Land Rover contributed about 30,652 vehicles, reporting a 31% rise, while Jaguar reported 7% decline in its sales to 6,255 units over the previous year.

The rise in sales of Range Rover Sport, Discovery (LR4) and Evoque models have supported Land Rover's growth during the month.

During the initial nine months of 2012, JLR's sales increased 37% to 269,115 vehicles globally compared to the same period in 2011.

Jaguar delivered 41,867 units reporting a 11% rise, while Land Rover sales increased 44% to 227,248 vehicles during January to September 2012.

By the end of 2012, Jaguar is planning to unveil new power trains and all-wheel drive variants of its XJ and XF models in addition to the XF Sportbrake.

JLR intends to start sales of its new Range Rover by late 2012 or early 2013.

Tata Motors is also planning to invest GBP2bn in its JLR unit in 2012 to produce new models as well as expand facilities to meet the increasing demand in China and Russia.
