Telecom giant AT&T announced that LG Electronics has joined AT&T Drive Studio to develop new services and technology for the connected cars.
AT&T Drive Studio is a connected car center located in Atlanta which is dedicated towards research and development of technologies for connected cars.
The collaboration between AT&T and LG is expected to support services on automotive grade hardware and equipment for connected vehicles.
AT&T Drive Studio became operational in January 2014, and since then twelve companies have joined the telecom giant to collaborate and design new services for future connected cars.
The studio includes a speech lab, a showroom to exhibit the latest innovations, working garage bays, conference facilities and the studio acts as a hub for AT&T to respond to the needs of auto makers.
AT&T Internet of Things Solutions senior vice president Chris Penrose said: "At the Drive Studio we work with automakers to make the in-car experience better and safer for the driver and passengers.
"The spirit of the AT&T Drive Studio is to bring together players in the auto industry ecosystem, like LG, to design the road ahead."
