Nippon Steel and ArcelorMittal Plan Jointly Bid for ThyssenKrupp's Steel Business

It’s reported that Nippon Steel Sumitomo Metal and ArcelorMittal plan jointly bid for ThyssenKrupp's steel business in North America, in order to improve the production of steel sheets for automobiles.

It’s known that ThyssenKrupp’s Alabama plant is valued at approximately USD 1.4 billion. The potential buyers include the Brazilian Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN) and the Japanese JFE steel.
