P&B Foods is recalling certain batch codes of Heera and Parivar brand coriander seeds in the UK because of possible insect contamination, according to the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
The products being recalled are Heera Small Coriander Seeds - 100g, 200g, 700g, 25kg; and Parivar Coriander Seeds - 600g. The products bear best before dates up to and including August 2014.
P&B Foods is recalling the above batches of its Heera and Parivar coriander seeds on a precautionary basis.
The FSA has advised consumers who have bought any of the products listed above to not eat them, but to instead, return them to the store for a full refund. No other P&B Foods products are known to be affected.
Last month, a similar recall was issued when FSA announced that the bakery products sold under Cake Factory Outlet and Clearance Cake Excess brands are being withdrawn.
The products were found to be contaminated as a result of rat infestation at the premises. FSA noted that the products were also deteriorated, moldy, and past their 'best before' date.
