Ford's upcoming F-150 will have aerodynamic features that will give the new pickup truck to make it more fuel efficient.
The new F-150 will have a boxy shape and it will be designed to reduce wind resistance. The specially designed edges will enable airflow to pass through the surfaces, at the front portion of the truck.
The rear corner of the pickup truck is designed in a way that detaches the air from the vehicle, which reduces turbulence and increase efficiency.
Ford is also using Flush-mounted windshield for smoother airflow, Tailgate top is made to act like a spoiler which would reduce turbulence, the cargo box is narrower in the new vehicle but the volume is same as that of its previous generation vehicle.
Ford F-150 exterior design manager Brad Richards said: "The shapes, lines, angles and motifs are much stronger on the all-new F-150, and the chiseled edges convey toughness."
"The hallmark beltline along the outside mirrors is the strongest piece of Built Ford Tough DNA. That's inspired by heavy equipment such as cranes and bulldozers. It looks good, but it also improves driver visibility."
Ford claims that the signature "F" implies lighter, more efficient truck
