Reportedly, the Chinese steel giant Baostee announced to cut its tinplate list prices by RMB100/ton for June. It’s learned that the company remained its tinplate list prices unchanged but offered some discounts for May after increasing the prices by RMB180/ton and RMB160/ton for March and April respectively.
However, it’s said that Baosteel’s price cut for tinplate may affect the Japanese steel mills’ price negotiation for the third quarter. It’s learned that the Japanese steelmakers planned to raise tinplate prices by around US$10~US$20/ton due to rising raw materials and stable demand.
