Reily Foods Is Recalling Chili Seasoning Kits Owing to Undeclared Allergens

Reily Foods, a US-based firm, is recalling certain Carroll Shelby brand and Wick Fowler brand chili seasoning kits owing to undeclared allergens.

The firm took this step after learning that one or more of the spice ingredients sourced from a third-party contain peanut and almond allergens that are not declared on the products' ingredient statements.

All the recalled products were distributed in retail stores countrywide.

The recalled products include 4oz of Carroll Shelby Chili Mix, carrying consumer UPC 0-00-72396-10000-8, and best by date range of 1 July 2016 to 21 November 2016; 3 oz of Carroll Shelby White Chicken Chili with consumer UPC 0-00-72396-10019-0 and best by date range between 1 July 2016 and 08 December 2016; 3.625oz of Wick Fowler 2-Alarm Chili Kit with consumer UPC 0-00-71092-00069-8 and best by date range of 1 July 2016 to 8 December 2016; and 3.03oz of Wick Fowler False Alarm Chili Kit with best by date range of 2 September 2016 and 2 December 2016 and consumer UPC 0-00-71092-00111-4.

This recall initiative was taken after consulting FDA. Reily Foods Co expects to resume production after receiving these ingredients from other sources.

Anyone with an allergy or sensitivity to peanuts and almonds could have serious or life-threatening allergic reaction upon consuming these products.

Those who have purchased the recalled products have been advised to hand them over to the place of purchase to obtain full refund.
