Israel-based confectionery firm Carmit Candy is set to introduce a new weight-management chocolate wafer bar.
The weight management wafer bar features two ingredients - glucomannan and a potato-derived proteinase inhibitor, Slendesta.
Glucomannan is a soluble fiber from the konjac root, which can lower the glycemic index of foods and beverages through its properties, including unusual water-binding capacity.
Slendesta from Kemin Industries is a potato-derived proteinase inhibitor (PI2) which increases the release of cholecystokinin (CCK), a natural factor used by the body to signal the brain that food has been eaten and helps to trigger feelings of fullness and satisfaction.
The chocolate wafer-bar offers 99 calories each, is gluten-free, GMO-free and kosher and contains a chocolate-crème filling.
It will be showcased at the Finished Products Europe 2013 event to be held from 14-16 May in Geneva co-located with Vitafoods exhibition.
Carmit is a private-label manufacturer for gluten-free, dairy-free and fortified confectionery and bakery products. The company produces chocolate coins, toffee-chews, crème-filled wafers, cookies and lollipops under Ego and Lenny's Magical Candies brands.
