Ball Packaging Rerunning Wrexham Plant

Ball Packaging Europe announced that its Wrexham can plant is fully functional again, as all its four production lines are up and running beginning second week of August 2012.

Earlier, the plant had to stop production following a fire mishap, which took place on 22 July 2012.

According to reports, the accident was caused by an external power dip in the plant.

Ball said in a statement that it routinely assesses all equipment in its plants for CE compliance, fire safety and operational safety.

"The company undertakes regular fire trainings with the workforce. These preventive measures have resulted in damage limitation to the Wrexham plant and ensured the continued safety of all employees," the company added.

The firm cited the close cooperation of all functional teams at Ball Packaging Europe and the speedy implementation of action plans as being the reasons for being back on track soon.
