RS Technologies Inc., a company that designs, engineers and manufactures composite utility poles, announced changes to its arrangement with HD Supply Power Solutions Ltd. (formerly HD Supply Utilities Ltd.), including the termination of the exclusive distribution agreement between RS and HD in place since November 2009.
Pursuant to a new distribution agreement with HD, which replaces the previous agreement, RS’s composite poles will be distributed by HD to utility companies in the province of Ontario. The utility companies HD will work with include Hydro One Inc. as well as a number of other local and regional utility companies in the province. The new agreement also provides for RS and HD to work together outside of Ontario on a project-by-project basis to continue to collaborate to sell RS poles.
Unlike the previous agreement, the new agreement does not set out minimum quantities for HD to purchase, nor is RS restricted to working solely with HD in utilities not set out in the new agreement. Outside Ontario, RS will sell its poles directly to utility companies.
“We are pleased to announce the continuation of our work with HD Supply Power Solutions in Ontario, where numerous installations of our poles exist in a host of transmission and distribution voltages,” said Howard Elliott, president and CEO of RS.
