Scania Has Unveiled The Scania Streamline Series of Long-Haulage Trucks

Swedish commercial vehicle manufacturer Scania has unveiled the Scania Streamline series of long-haulage trucks.

The new series consists of the Scania G- and R-series long-haulage trucks that are claimed to posses refined technology and new systems, which aloe the vehicles to reduce fuel consumption by up to 8%.

Powered by the second generation Euro 6 engines mated to low-drag gearboxes, the vehicles generate outputs between 450hp and 490hp, while the engine combined with SCR delivers an output of 410hp.

The company has also introduced the Euro 6 V8 engines combined with EGR and SCR technologies that generate outputs of 520hp and 580hp.

With the new Euro 6 engine line up the company offers outputs, ranging from the 250hp 9L to the 580hp V8, along with two gas engines that can be fueled with biogas, compressed natural gas (CNG) or liquefied LNG.

Features of the new truck series include Scania Active Prediction cruise control system that uses GPS and topographical map data to control the vehicle's cruising speed and also have the full air deflector kits.
