Japan’s exports of iron and steel products totaled 3.6 million tons in February, rising by 12.6% year on year while falling by 0.7% from a month ago, according to data released by Japan’s Ministry of Finance. In February, Korea was the largest importer of the Japanese steel with 607,154 tons, falling by 8.5%; China was the second largest one with 443,023 tons, decreasing by 15.5% and Taiwan was the third largest one with 350,061 tons, jumping by 41.5%, all compared to those in the same period of a year ago. Meanwhile, Japan’s steel imports amounted to 516,794 tons in February, falling by 18.1% month on month and decreasing by 14.3% year on year.
