Thyssenkrupp Has No Plan to Restart Its Idle No.9 BF as Demand in Europe Is Weak

 

The steel giant ThyssenKrupp said this week that it has no plan to restart its idle No.9 blast furnace (BF) as demand in Europe is weak.

It’s known that the initial schedule for the reline at the No.9 BF which as shut down at ThyssenKrupp’s Hamborn site in Duisburg is 180 days. Later, ThyssenKrupp said that it would remain the No. 9 BF idle until end of this year.

However, ThyssenKrupp said this week that it has no plan to restart the No.9 BF due to poor demand.
