Fiber One, the breakfast cereal brand owned by US-based General Mills, has launched Fiber One Protein Bars in two flavors - Caramel Nut and Coconut Almond.
The Caramel Nut bar contains 130 calories and 7g of protein, while the Coconut Almond contains 140 calories 6g of protein.
Fiber One Protein Bars, which offer offer 20% daily value of fiber, are available in five-count boxes for an RRP of $4.19 at major grocery stores across the nation.
Commenting on the new offering, Fiber One associate marketing manager Katherine Zonino said that the new Fiber One Protein Bars will be a healthier option that provide both nutrition and flavor.
"Fiber One Protein Bars deliver the taste you crave, but with the nutritional benefits of fiber and protein, making it easy to stay on track," added Zonino.
General Mills operates in about 100 countries and its consumer brands include Cheerios, Hagen-Dazs, Nature Valley, Yoplait, Betty Crocker, Pillsbury, Green Giant, Progresso and Old El Paso.
