HSV Builds Its 75, 000th Car

Australia’s most successful performance car manufacturer, Holden Special Vehicles (HSV), has celebrated the production of its 75,000th car.

The milestone car, a 2013 HSV ClubSport sedan in Perfect Blue paint (above), rolled off the company’s Clayton assembly line in Victoria. The production landmark comes just months after HSV celebrated its 25th anniversary in July last year.

HSV managing director Phil Harding said the achievement capped off a memorable 12 months for the company.

“In celebrating this milestone with our staff, it gave us the chance to reflect on all those who have contributed to the success this company has enjoyed over the past 25 years,” Harding said.

The history-making ClubSport is headed to Western Australia, where it will be presented to HSV’s top-selling dealer in 2012, Shacks HSV in Fremantle. The car comes with a unique build plate and a personalised letter from managing director Harding.

HSV commenced operations in July 1987 in Notting Hill, Victoria, and produced 12,426 cars before moving to its current home in Clayton in December 1994.

Other milestone vehicles include number 5000, a VN T30 built in 1991; number 20,000, a Senator built in 1997; number 40,000, a ClubSport in 2003; and number 50,000, a VZ ClubSport built in 2006.
