At present, CTBUH 2013 High-rise Building Award has been announced in Chicago, U.S.A. New CCTV Building wins the highest award--2013 Global Best High-rise Building Award, standing out from over 60 candidate. As the construction steel supplier for new CCTV Building, Baosteel has made due contributions through supply of 60,000t specially developed high strength steel and excellent fabrication of 120,000t high quality steel structure for main body.
New CCTV Building is designed by Ole Scheeren, OMA. He considers this award is the recognition on one landmark building in Beijing, and also one manifesto for Asian high-rise building.
What's more, Baosteel has made great contributions to the successful construction of the project. First of all, Baosteel Co., Ltd. Has supplied nearly 60,00t high strength steel including newly developed Q460E. Secondly, as the largest steel structured single building, 120,000t steel structure of main body is fabricated by Baosteel Engineering & Technology Group Construction Corp. In particular, during the process of construction member fabrication, the staff of Baosteel Construction work out together. Through strict control on blanking, splicing, pre-assembly, sequence QC, precise operation and joint efforts, the masterpiece is created with perfect quality.
Prior to this, Baosteel Construction specially developed machining technology of steel structure multi-box column and special shaped column has won 2nd Price of China Steel Structure Association of Science and Technology Awards.
