Pet products provider VetDepot has released an infographic, named 'What to Look for on Pet Food Labels,' which is based on recommendations made by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO) for educating pet owners as to how they should go about choosing the right pet food formula.
The infographic states that the exact wording on pet food packaging is crucial.
VetDepot say the owners should choose a pet food that is appropriate for their animal's age and lifestyle. It also cites the example of foods designed to support the caloric needs of highly active dogs or help with skin irritation for pets that suffer from allergies.
It concludes the report by telling pet owners to compulsorily read the ingredients list.
