Cadillac, the luxury automotive division of General Motors has rolled out its first ELR from its Detroit-Hamtramck assembly plant in the US.
The company had unveiled the plug-in electric luxury coupe in 2013 Detroit Motor Show.
Powered by GM's extended range electric vehicle (EREV) technology, the vehicle combines pure electric drive and a 1.4L gasoline-powered electric generator, and generates an output of 207hp and 400Nm torque.
The plug-in electric luxury coupe is equipped with 16.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack which powers the advanced electric drive unit.
In a single charge the vehicle can offer a range of about 35 miles of pure electric driving, while in combined range with both battery pack, the vehicle can drive about 300-miles (480km).
The battery pack can be charged in 4.5 hours charging it with a 240V outlet while it takes 12 hours while charging it through a 120V outlet.
The vehicle is also equipped with Regen on Demand feature, which allows paddle shifters to temporarily regenerate energy and store it as electricity in the battery pack for later use.
