BorgWarner Plans to Expand Production Capacity at Its Plant in Dixon

Auto components and parts supplier BorgWarner plans to expand production capacity at its plant in Dixon, Illinois with an investment of $9.4m over the next three years.

The project will create 40 new jobs, and will enable the company to provide its customers with environmentally friendly technologies, including exhaust gas recirculation coolers, tubes and thermostats.

These technologies are designed to help reduce emissions, and improve fuel economy for passenger cars and on- and off-road commercial diesel vehicles.

BorgWarner Emissions Systems Dixon plant manager Paddy Lange said: "We are pleased to support the local economy with expanded operations in Dixon and appreciate the encouragement we have received from both the city of Dixon and the state of Illinois.

"Dixon's infrastructure gives us the ability to meet growing customer demand in North America, which is likely to increase within the next few years."

BorgWarner provides components and systems for powertrains. It operates manufacturing and technical facilities in 60 locations in 19 countries worldwide.
