Reportedly, the Brazilian steelmaker Cia Siderúrgica Nacional SA (CSN) shows its interests in purchasing ThyssenKrupp AG’s Steel Americas unit.
CSN has been looking for ways to make Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) in this acquisition and offering US$3.8 billion for Steel Americas.
However analysts said this purchase would contribute negative earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization for CSN.
Meanwhile, whether BNDES could extend a credit facility to CSN or participate in the deal as partner remains a question.
