PTI reported that Manpower Group India has appointed Mr AG Rao former executive president of TATA Teleservices as its MD.
A company said that Mr Rao,who joined the role on December 14th,replaced Mr Sanjay Pandit who is moving into a global role.
Mr Darryl E Green president of Manpower Group said that"Manpower wants to make a big impression in the area of IT especially IT outsourcing and IT solutions.India is going to play a major role in that.Bringing in Mr Rao fits in with these plans."
Mr Srikanth Rengarajan would continue as executive director and president of India operations and would report to Mr Rao.
According to Mr Green,Manpower is looking at the right time to up investment in India.The business in India is growing rapidly.But in terms of profitability it is not big for the group.
He said that"It is one tenth of profits in China and China is one fifth of profits in the US or Japan.While this business is important,there is a lot of money to be made right now in talent management exportation.It is not only important for us,but also for people who want international career."
