Motech Executives Claim The Company Has Been Operating at Full Capacity Since 2012

Motech executives claim the company has been operating at full capacity since 2012.According to Simon Tsuo,chairman of Motech,forecast total solar cell shipments in 2012 are likely to exceed the 10.8GW of 2011.

Tsuo indicated current global solar cell capacity has reached 60GW but demand is only close to 30GW.The extra capacity will need time to be consumed.

PH Chang,president and CEO of Motech,noted that the firm's top priority is to lower production costs.In addition,the firm will continue to strive for higher conversion efficiencies.In recent years,Motech has been successful in achieving technological breakthroughs.In particular,sales of solar cells have been improving with monthly shipments exceeding 120MW.Furthermore,the price of solar cells has been stabilizing which will help the firm meet its goal of returning to profitability.

Chang added that the anti-dumping and anti-subsidy duties announced by the US government are unlikely to curb solar module imports from China.Currently,China's solar modules account for approximately 50%of the US market.In 2012,demand in the US solar market is likely to reach 2.5GW,according to the firm.
