The company's Q3 2012 consolidated revenue registered 6% increase, compared to Q2 2011
Chipmaker SK Hynix posted a marginal profit for third quarter 2012 ended 30 September 2012.
The South Korea-based company's consolidated third quarter revenue of 2012 was KRW 2.42 trillion won, an increase 6% from KRW2.29 trillion in the same quarter of the 2011.
The company swung to a profit of KRW2bn won, owing to gains in foreign currency transactions, compared to a loss of KRW563bn during the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
The quarter witnessed NAND Flash price stabilising due to limited production by manufacturers and the increased sales of solution products such as MCP and eMMC contributed to an overall profit, said the company.
DRAM bit shipment decreased by 5% quarter-over-quarter and the average selling price also declined 8%.
The bit shipment for NAND Flash increased by 5%.
