Talenti Gelato, an ice cream producer based in Minnesota, US, has bought a former Kroger ice cream production plant in Marietta, Georgia, creating 100 new jobs.
Talenti currently manufactures its products at its plant in Dallas, Texas. It plans to continue operations at its existing plant, but will relocate its primary headquarters to Marietta Industrial Park.
The production at the Marietta plant is likely to begin later in 2012.
Talenti offers all-natural, artisanal gelatos and sorbettos. Its products are sold in several national supermarkets and food retailers, including Kroger, Publix, Whole Foods Market, The Fresh Market, Target and Ingles.
Kroger had closed the Marietta plant earlier this year, leading to a loss of nearly 140 jobs.
