Isuzu Plans to Build Production Plant with an Annual Capacity of 100000 Cars in India

Isuzu Motors is preparing to enter the Indian light commercial vehicles and SUV market, the recently announced investment in India to establish a production plant plan is about to be finalized. It recently announced the establishment of the production plant.

Isuzu Motors India vice president-Shigeru Wakabayashi said that the site of the new plant is scheduled in the southern region of India with the annual production capacity of 100,000 cars/ year.

Shigeru Wakabayashi pointed out that the new plant would be built in the next 3-5years, the specific amount of the investment remained to be discussed.

Isuzu will set up the dealerships in Hyderabad and Coimbatore. The company pointed out that due to India more than 50% of the population was engaged in agricultural work, so the company decided to make the produces for rural users first.

Moreover the company still expressed that after meeting the market demand in India the company would export cars to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal from India in the future.
