UK-based confectionary maker Bon Bon Buddies is planning to expand its business into Saudi Arabia and Ukraine in 2014.
During the last six months, the company expanded its network in the Middle East by opening up markets in Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain.
The company, which currently employs over 80 people across its sites, has generated revenues of £37m through exports to 40 nations in 2012.
Bon Bon Buddies managing director Chris Howarth said that the Middle East is an important growth market for the company.
Howarth further said that people who live in the Middle East have a high disposable income and a tendency to consume confectionary.
"Big brands such as Disney and Marvel are particularly popular, and consumers tend to enjoy products with unique textures and tastes.
"Our aim is to increase the proportion of non-UK sales to two thirds of total sales, while investing in technology to develop new sales streams is also on the agenda," Howarth added.
Founded in 1993, the company started its operations in the UAE in 2011. It currently supplies its products to all countries in the EU.
