Hammer Packaging Broken Ground on a 13,000ft2 Expansion

US-based multi-color packaging converter Hammer Packaging has broken ground on a 13,000ft2 expansion at its corporate headquarters located in West Henrietta, New York.

The addition, expected to complete in November 2012, will be constructed on the south side of the existing building and is said to accommodate the company's third variable sleeve offset printing (VSOP) press, alongside the addition of a fourth press.

According to the company, the facility also has a wide range of large-format printing presses for producing cut & stack, roll-fed, in-mold, foam and shrink sleeve labels.

Hammer Packaging president & CEO James Hammer commenting on the development said, "The decision for the building addition is to better maintain our present workflow and maintain as much cost effective manufacturing square footage as possible to support our aggressive strategic sales growth."

Earlier in 2012, the company shifted and expanded its flexo operations to its Rochester Tech Park location with a second new narrow-web ten-color Nilpeter UV-Flexo press and an additional space of 60,000ft2.
