US-based United Natural Foods (UNFI) is set to establish a new distribution center in Prescott, Wisconsin, with an investment of $37.8m.
Located in Eagle Ridge Business Park, the 300,000ft2 center will be the company's second distribution center in Wisconsin, and is expected to create 314 new jobs.
Construction on the site is expected to commence in May and complete in a year.
UNFI group president Sean Griffin said, "We feel the location is the optimal location for us to better service our customers and increase our operational efficiencies while reducing our costs and emissions. We look forward to growing together with this great community."
To support the project, Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) is set to award up to $3.5m in state tax credits to UNFI and City of Prescott will provide a $6m incentive package.
The company also plans to open a 425,000ft2 distribution center and warehouse in spring 2014 in Racine County.
Governor Scott Walker said, "UNFI's decision to build a second facility in Wisconsin -- particularly after looking at options in other states -- is a testament to our strong pro-business climate.
"The two operations combined are creating more than 500 new jobs that could have gone elsewhere. We're very pleased with the company's continued commitment to Wisconsin."
